We believe the art is a vital part of a child’s social, emotional and mental development, however access to the arts is greatly lacking in our schools.

Arts education is vital to the future for developing creative thinkers in a rapidly-changing global economy. FRIENDS OF SACRAMENTO ARTS is leading a collaboration with school districts, community organizations and artists to ensure that arts education is provided for every PreK-12 grade child in Sacramento.

Every child will receive a robust arts education experience through the leadership and coordination of Visual and Performing Arts Directors in each of the thirteen school districts in Sacramento County. These directors will implement their district’s strategic plan to include access to transportation for field trips, musical instruments, art supplies and technology, increased participation with area arts organizations and access to the Kennedy Center’s nationally-recognized Any Given Child arts education programs.

In order to realize this dream, funding will be achieved through the generous support of the City of Sacramento, Sacramento Region Community Foundation, private and public foundations, corporate and individual philanthropists and school districts.
