Heroes of Arts Education Gala
March 14, 2024
The Sofia, Home of B Street Theatre

Arts Leaders and educators are our heroes! They inspire and engage our school children through music, dance, theater and fine arts. Outstanding arts leaders and educators from many school districts in our region will be recognized and celebrated at our second annual gala.

Please join Friends of Sacramento Arts on March 14 to honor these community leaders and local arts teachers making an impact in the lives of school children.

Dr. L. Steven Winlock, Executive Director of the Sacramento County Office of Education, will also be honored at this event. He has over 35 years of experience, and also serves as the Sacramento City arts commissioner.

Randy Cohen, Vice President of Research at Americans for the Arts, will be joining us as part of his nationwide tour focusing on the importance of a thriving creative economy and the arts.

Enjoy music from the Valley HS Jazz Combo and the Phoebe Hearst Elementary 6th grade Ukelele Band. Mollie Morrison, McClatchy High School’s VAPA director, will share highlights of their recent fine arts competition and her student artists.

Catering provided by Mama Kim.

Tickets are $50 each and proceeds from the gala will help provide resources to schools and parents to expand equitable access to comprehensive arts education in the greater Sacramento region.

Every child deserves arts education to support academic and social-emotional learning, and yet there are significant gaps in access.

We advocate for funding, help connect schools with arts education resources, and provide information to support arts program expansion in Sacramento K-12 schools.

Join us in working towards “Arts Every Day for Every Child in Every School.”
