Building Partnerships

In 2018, A consortium was formed to launch a partnership with Friends of Sacramento Arts, the City of Sacramento, the Sacramento County Office of Education and the 13 Sacramento County school districts.

Friends of Sacramento Arts has expanded its partnerships by joining with Create CA, a statewide arts education advocacy organization and working in the greater Sacramento region including El Dorado, Placer and Yolo counties.

In 2022, Friends help lead the local efforts to seek approval of Proposition 28, the Arts and Music in Schools Act. Since then, partnerships with Create CA, Arts for LA, Arts Education Alliance of the Bay Area and California PTA has created a regional and statewide model for collaboration to ensure equitable access to arts education through the implementation of the Arts and Music in Schools Act.
