Judy is a professional artist and a special education teacher for the Sacramento City Unified School district at Hollywood Park Elementary. As an artist, she has shown and sold her artwork throughout the Northern California.
She graduated from UC Davis with her Studio Arts Major including being able to study under such renowned artists as Wayne Thiebaud and Robert Arneson.
Judy served as a teaching artist consultant in a pilot program in partnership with the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission and the Robla School District to bring professional working artists into schools, exposing elementary students to many different art disciplines.
Judy taught art in elementary schools throughout the city and for Very Special Arts program, now I Can Do That!, an organization that promotes the creative power in people with disabilities.
This connection between art and education led her to earn her Masters of Science degree in Special Education. She believes her experiences in the arts and education have provided her a unique opportunity to serve students with disabilities.
Judy is board member of the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission.
Judy is married to Patrick Kennedy a fourth generation Sacramentan who currently serves on the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors representing District 2. They have four grown daughters.
