Carlin Naify has extensive nonprofit board experience. She is a Board Member of the Sacramento Region Community Foundation as Chair of the Community Impact Committee. Carlin is a Board Member of Verge Center for the Arts and The Community of Writers in Squaw Valley. Carlin is the Past Chair of the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission. She served on the Board of the Crocker Art Museum Association for eight years, where she served as Chair of Collections and Acquisitions and as Secretary and she served as President of the Crocker’s Docent Council. Carlin’s board experience in leadership roles also includes the Sacramento Public Library Foundation, National Charity League and a Sacramento City Unified School District Leadership Council.
She has been owner of Beers Books for over three decades, and owner of Sutter II Medical Office Building.
Before becoming a community leader in the Sacramento region, Carlin studied English in college and studied literature and art history in Florence, Italy. When she returned to the States, she completed college and worked as a sixth-grade teacher. She moved to Sacramento in 1977, where she married and raised her family.
