About Sacramento Arts Education Consortium

On June 14, 2017, the Mayor proposed a collaboration with school districts in the City and County of Sacramento to reinvigorate arts education in the schools. The Mayor believes that such a collaboration could affect transformational change in the quality of life in the City by providing more and higher quality arts and cultural experiences for our school children. In the fall of 2018, the announced the formation of a Consortium for arts education in partnership with the City of Sacramento, the County Superintendent of Schools, Friends of SMAC and all 13 school districts in Sacramento County.
